A lot of people say they have problems with BYU for all sorts of reasons. I decided to list my reasons and some counter-arguments to some of those reasons that people really dis-like BYU.
1. A lot of people say that BYU is a zoo and that a lot of people get married really quick. If that is true, I must be in the wrong major or doing something very wrong. All of the girls that I would consider dating all seem to be either dating someone already or married. (Most of them are married already...)
2. BYU hires too many part-time teachers. Their focus seems to be that they want to hire people that are giving back to BYU. They are trying to make it as cheap as possible by getting as many teachers that they can pay very little or volunteer. The only teachers that get paid normal teacher salaries are the full-time teachers. These full-time teachers teach classes that have around 400-500 students in them. Now, there are rules about how many faculty you can actually hire and since they have too many teachers that are part-time, they cannot support the numbers of students that want to learn.
3. They can't fit enough people in the classes that are important, so they build up all of this suspense of undergraduate work before you actually get into the school and then when it comes to getting in, there is not room, so you get stuck with a half-major and a possible minor. In the real world, that is called a college drop-out... (by default...) :S
4. Just like any other school: If you know someone and you are buddy-buddy with them, then you get places. If you don't know anyone in power or if you don't have a special situation with you personally (like: You fought in the French and Indian War) then they don't really care about who you are and what you have the potential to accomplish in life.
5. You would think that BYU would actually hold interviews with candidates for the Marriott School, but they assume that everything they need to know, they can get out of a 500 word essay and a numbers game with GPA averages. They don't care about people and special situations or even candidates that have potential to become a great asset and a major contributor to the success of the school in general.
I may have some more points to add later, but for now: This is my rant of what I feel BYU is doing wrong right now. No one with any power may ever read this, but at least it is out there for someone to consider.

The BYU Update
So, I didn't make it into the Business School for Fall 2008... I went to go sign up for all of the Russian classes to go about finishing up my Russian BA, and guess what?!? All the classes that I need are full. The only classes it seems like I can take are classes that I've already taken. Kinda makes me stuck in between a rock and a hard place. I emailed the department head and we'll see what he says, but I just don't know what to do.

Work and Stuff
So I recently got a job at Wells Fargo as a Teller... And at a security company (not as a sales rep.) as a customer service rep. I really like both of these jobs, but they just don't seem to pay that much. I decided to look into getting another job and got an offer to work through an outsourced telephone service company called Teleperformance. The project that I would be working on would be the Dell project. I would be working as a technical support agent. I have applied to work there before, but they are really restrictive and that encouraged me to not work for them. This time around, I felt that they were very unprofessional in their hiring process and even though I was a really good choice for an applicant, they hired the other people that came in before me as well. (Which, to my understanding, was not the best move, but I guess they are desperate...)
Reasons why Teleperformance is desperate:
1. They have trouble finding people who can pass the A+ Certification test.
2. They don't have a very good HR department.
3. They can't hold up their end of their contracts with Dell.
4. Pretty lousy company as far as infrastructure goes.
5. This list wouldn't be the same without a number 5.
I could probably go on and on, but I won't... I just think someone could do a better job as an outsourced telephone company. I have worked for a company inside and I think someone can create the same atmosphere for insourced as outsourced...

The College Decision
So due to a mix of bad timing and awkward situations, I did not get accepted for the Spring 2008 into the BYU Marriott School. I have one more chance to apply for the Fall, but I'm faced with a couple different issues... I just bought a new car, so fundage is significantly lower than I was planning. Plus, my grades are a little lower than I was planning, so option of a scholarship may be gone. So, I need to decide if I am going to try and apply for the Fall 2008 at BYU and work here during the summer, so that I have a job or I can retake the ACT to score a 25 on it, so I can get into ASU and then I will work in AZ once again...
I love Arizona, so it wouldn't be that big of an issue, but I guess the real concern is where I am supposed to be. Heavenly Father seems to be directing my life in a certain direction and I need to figure out what He is trying to tell me. Any advice on this issue would be appreciated... (Keep in mind that I understand that prayer is the ultimate answer, but I like to have some considerations on the table before I ask the big man upstairs.) :)
